A short scramble up the northernmost of the gullies above Torside Clough.  Summary verdict: easy and fun; best combined with other gully / clough scrambles in the area

Route in: park at Torside car park, walk back along the Trans-Pennine Trail, then follow the Pennine Way past Reaps Farmhouse and shortly after that, branch off left into Torside Clough.  (There is also a shorter but more strenuous route walking straight across the TPT and then following the shoulder underneath Long Gutter Edge round to Torside Clough and then across the brook)

Start point: walk off the Torside Clough path below the first of the clear gullies (OS Grid Ref: SK 06525 97378)

Grading: not specifically in the “Scrambles in the Dark Peak” book so unrated but something like 0.75: quite steep but nothing technical.  Narrow and overgrown in places.

End point: when you reach the Pennine Way (OS Grid Ref: SK 06350 97289)

Route out: walk North along the Pennine Way to the Trans-Pennine Trail and then back to Torside CP.  Or, go back to Torside Clough and try one of the other gullies

Time: 45 mins to bottom of clough; 15 mins to top of clough; 40 mins back to the car park

Verdict: straightforward, quite nicely enclosed and a little strenuous due to the steepness; likely combine with other gullies or with Torside Clough itself
